Partnership aims to support internationalization of SMEs and startups on the Brazil-Canada axis

ABES has just formalized a partnership with the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC), an independent organization that works to bring together people, companies and public and private institutions in both countries. Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES, met, on July 24, at CCBC headquarters, with its president Paulo Perroti, to sign the partnership memorandum of understanding and celebrate the beginning of joint efforts to support the internationalization of startups and SMEs within the Brazil-Canada axis. Also participating in the meeting were Francisco Camargo, chairman of the ABES Board, and board member Vanda Scartezini.

“The work that CCBC performs, always seeking to strengthen bilateral relations between Brazil and Canada, is in line with what ABES has been proposing to do, promoting entrepreneurship and healthy competitiveness among companies. We believe that our joint efforts will positively impact many startups and SMEs, Brazilian and Canadian, and their respective sectors of activity, such as mobility, health, finance, among many others ”, says Fücher.

Fücher points out that the complex tax system and the bureaucracy existing in Brazil end up alienating potential foreign investors. However, the country has great potential and business opportunities. "It is estimated that the approval of the Pension Reform could attract up to US$ 80 billion in foreign direct investment".

ABES and CCBC joined their efforts, according to Fücher, to attract Canadian startups to the Brazilian market, offering new opportunities to their associates. As part of the agreement, ABES developed a special associative program for Canadian startups linked to CCBC, in addition to making available its more than 30 years of experience in various areas. In return, CCBC starts offering assistance to ABES associates seeking internationalization in Canada, regardless of the size of the company, and offering special conditions for startups.

“CCBC has a wide network of relationships with companies and executives to continue with its mission of promoting trade and culture between the Brazilian and Canadian markets. Combining our knowledge of technology and innovation with ABES 'expertise in the regulatory area, we will be able to offer complete support to startups and SMEs in this internationalization process ”, said Perrotti.
