Webinar organized by ABES will take place on September 4 and will include representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the municipality of São Paulo, and Estonia

São Paulo, September 1, 2020 - ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies prepared yet another webinar from the "Novos Tempos" series, which will discuss how governments are preparing for a more virtual society? The meeting will take place on September 4, at 2 pm, and will include representatives of the government and an expert in international digital transformation, including simultaneous translation. Registrations must be made through the website of Sympla and participation is free.

"Pandemic has streamlined the process of digitizing society around the world, drastically reducing the need for human contact. In turn, governments also need to do their part, because many of the public services require the physical presence of the citizen. In this webinar, we will learn about the experiences of Estonia, considered one of the most digital governments in the world, as well as the impressive evolution of the digitalization process of various public services in Brazil. And we will also discover your plans for the future "Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES .

Among the participants, ABES invited the Deputy Secretary of Digital Government of the Ministry of Economy, Ciro Avelino; the Municipal Secretary of Innovation and Technology of the SP City Hall, Juan Quirós; the City Councilor of São Paulo, Daniel Annenberg; and the specialist in Digital Transformation in Estonia, Florian Marcus. The moderation is up to the President of ABES, Rodolfo Fücher.

"We aim to bring the State closer to citizens, who are increasingly digital. The digital transformation allows us to see each Brazilian better, including those who feel excluded, in order to direct public policies in a more agile and efficient way and mainly reach the citizens. who need it most ", emphasizes the Deputy Secretary of Digital Government of the Ministry of Economy, Ciro Avelino.

"Many governments treat their own citizens as civil servants, in which they must store all the necessary data at home and send it to the authorities when they wish. Digitization can fix this and, if done well, it will not only save money and time, but it will also improve the overall quality of life, "says Florian Marcus, Digital Transformation Adviser at e-Estonia Briefing Center.

"The pandemic opened up social inequalities even more and exposed, as never before, the issue of digital inequality. One in four people in Brazil do not have access to the internet and 30% of Brazilian houses do not have access to the network. Promoting digital inclusion is one way to combat social inequality. I believe in technology as an essential tool to simplify the life of the population, reducing bureaucracy and the need to move around the city. public management of civil society ", completes Daniel Annenberg, councilor for the PSDB.

"The technology that counts is the one that transforms people's lives. We need to ensure that the public authorities keep up with digital transformations, especially at this moment, to better serve the population. And to train citizens so that they can access this service model", he concludes. the Secretary of Innovation and Technology of the city of São Paulo, Juan Quirós.
