Initiative is part of the company's set of Sustainability actions to help micro and small entrepreneurs to promote their businesses during the pandemic. 20 innovative projects will be chosen, which will receive R$ 25 thousand each

Serasa Experian launches today, October 28, 2020, the Serasa Experian Challenge for Micro and Small Companies and will distribute R$ 500 thousand in prizes to the winners. The initiative, unprecedented in the group, aims to support entrepreneurs to carry out their innovation projects and face the demands in the "new normal". In addition, it aims to encourage the development of the entrepreneurial culture of Brazil and raise awareness in society for the recognition of entrepreneurship as an important vector for the development of the economy in the country.

“If, on the one hand, micro, small and medium-sized companies are responsible for more than half of formal jobs in the country, on the other hand they are those with less financial strength to support the fluctuations in demand caused by the pandemic. Thus, our goal with the Challenge is to support the entrepreneur in making feasible projects for adapting his business to the current conjuncture ”, explains the director of Corporate Responsibility, Marketing and Communication at Serasa Experian, Sirlene Cavaliere.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Serasa Experian has invested heavily in initiatives to help companies overcome this challenging moment. Free financial education courses, e-books, webinars and discount vouchers on solutions were made available. “Many Brazilian microentrepreneurs are born out of a need and not exactly a vocation. Thus, financial education and management contents are essential to reduce the level of mortality of these companies ”, points out Sirlene.

To participate in the award, the entrepreneur needs to register and submit the innovation project that will keep his company healthy in this new business environment. The registered projects will be analyzed by the judging committee. There will be 20 entrepreneurs awarded R$ 25 thousand. In addition, all registrants will be able to choose to receive mentoring from professional volunteers from Serasa Experian to help in the development of their project.

To participate in the Serasa Experian Challenge for Micro and Small Businesses it is necessary to have a valid and active CNPJ with the Federal Revenue Service and be classified into the following categories:

- Individual microentrepreneur - annual turnover equal to or less than R$ 81,000.00 (eighty-one thousand reais),

- Micro Empresa - annual turnover equal to or less than R$ 360,000.00 (three hundred and sixty thousand reais) and

- Small companies - annual sales exceeding R$ 360,000.00 (three hundred and sixty thousand reais) and equal to or less than R$ 4,800,000.00 (four million eight hundred thousand reais).

“The award will help in the implementation of the idea or in the expansion of the project. Another important point is that the initiative will be presented to a judging committee composed of executives from large companies. In addition, the winning projects will be released to the press, to give visibility to these businesses and to share good practices ”, explains Sirlene.

Registration was opened today and can be made until November 27, 2020, by filling out an electronic form on the website: www.desafioserasaexperian.com.br. Upon registration, the entrepreneur must inform if there is interest in the voluntary mentoring of Serasa Experian employees to produce the video content that will compete for the Challenge. You will also need to take the 1-hour online course on financial education and access the Serasa Score to understand the company's financial health. After the initial stage is completed, participants will receive a message confirming the project's registration in the email provided by them at the time of registration.
